Introduction

The diagram illustrates how discarded glass bottles are processed and turned into new ones, in a sequence of six stages.

Overview

Overall, the process is linear, beginning with the collection of used bottles and ending with the moulding of new ones. It can be divided into a preparation phase, in which the glass is sorted and cleaned, and a manufacturing phase, in which it is crushed, melted and reshaped.

Body — the stages, in order

At the first stage, used bottles are collected in recycling banks. They are then sorted according to their colour — clear, green or brown — before being washed so that labels and metal caps can be removed. Once the glass is clean, it is crushed into small fragments known as "cullet". This cullet is subsequently fed into a furnace, where it is melted at a high temperature. In the final stage, the molten glass is poured into moulds and formed into new bottles, which are ready to be filled and used again.

Band 8

The diagram shows how used glass bottles are recycled into new ones in six stages. Overall, the process is linear, from collection to the moulding of new bottles. First, old bottles are collected in banks and sorted by colour. They are then washed to remove labels and caps. After that, the clean glass is crushed into small pieces called cullet, which is melted in a furnace. Finally, the molten glass is poured into moulds to make new bottles.

Why Band 8: consistent passive voice, clear sequencers and an overview; slightly less detail and variety than a 9.ধারাবাহিক passive, স্পষ্ট sequencer ও overview; ৯-এর চেয়ে একটু কম বিস্তার।
Band 7

The diagram shows the recycling process of glass bottles. There are six stages. First, the bottles are collected. Then they are sorted by colour and washed. Next, the glass is crushed into small pieces. After that it is melted in a furnace. Finally, new bottles are made from the melted glass. So the process goes from collecting old bottles to making new ones.

Why Band 7: correct passive and clear ordering, but the sentences are short and similar and there is no real overview grouping, keeping it below 8.সঠিক passive ও ক্রম, কিন্তু ছোট একঘেয়ে বাক্য, প্রকৃত overview নেই — তাই ৮ নয়।
Band 6

This diagram is about glass recycling. First people collect the bottles. Then they sort the colour and wash them. After they crush the glass and melt it in furnace. Then they make new bottle. The process have six stage and it is not difficult to understand.

Why Band 6: the stages are mostly right but the answer often uses the active voice ("people collect"), has article/plural errors and no overview. Using the passive and grouping the stages would reach 7.ধাপ ঠিক, কিন্তু প্রায়ই active voice, article/plural ভুল, overview নেই।
Band 5.5

The picture show recycle of glass. People collecting bottle and put in bank. Then sorting colour and washing. They crush the glass and put in furnace for melt. New bottle is make. It is good for environment because we not waste glass.

Why Band 5.5: the steps are understandable but there are frequent grammar errors ("show", "is make"), inconsistent voice, and an added opinion about the environment that does not belong in Task 1. ধাপ বোঝা যায় কিন্তু grammar ভুল অনেক, voice অসামঞ্জস্য, পরিবেশ নিয়ে মত যোগ হয়েছে।

Model answer — Task 2 Band 9
Introduction

Opinions differ over the age at which children should begin formal education. While some argue that an early start gives children a head start, others believe that a later start protects their development. This essay will consider both positions before explaining why I favour a later start.

Body 1 — the early-start view

Those who support beginning school early point out that young children absorb knowledge, especially language, with remarkable ease. Introducing reading and numbers at four or five, they argue, exploits this window and gives pupils a strong academic foundation. There is also a practical benefit: formal schooling provides childcare, allowing both parents to work, which many families depend on.

Body 2 — the later-start view

On the other hand, opponents contend that very young children learn best through play rather than formal instruction. Countries such as Finland, where school begins at seven, consistently achieve excellent results, suggesting that an early academic start is not essential. Pushing children into structured lessons too soon, they warn, can create stress and dull their natural curiosity.

Opinion & conclusion

Having weighed both sides, I lean towards a later start. The evidence that play-based early years produce confident, capable learners is persuasive, and the risks of early pressure seem to outweigh the advantages of a head start. In my view, children should be allowed to develop through play first and begin formal schooling only when they are genuinely ready.

Band 8

People disagree about when children should start school. Some say an early start is best because young children learn quickly, especially language, and early school also provides childcare for working parents. Others argue that small children learn better through play; Finland, where school starts at seven, does very well, which shows an early academic start is not necessary. In my opinion, a later start is preferable, because play-based early years build confidence and avoid unnecessary pressure. Children should therefore begin formal lessons only when they are ready.

Why Band 8: both views and a clear opinion, well linked and exemplified; a touch less developed than a 9.দুই দিক ও স্পষ্ট মত, ভালো সংযোগ ও উদাহরণ; ৯-এর চেয়ে একটু কম বিস্তৃত।
Band 7

There are two opinions about the age to start school. On one hand, some people think children should start early because they learn fast when they are young. Also parents can work. On the other hand, other people think a later start is better because children learn by playing and do not feel stress. For example, in Finland school starts at seven and students are good. In my opinion, I agree with the later start because playing is important for small children.

Why Band 7: both sides, an example and a clear opinion, but the linking is a little mechanical and the ideas are fairly general, keeping it below 8.দুই দিক, উদাহরণ ও মত আছে; linker কিছুটা যান্ত্রিক, ভাবনা সাধারণ।
Band 6

Some people want children to start school early and some people want later. Early is good because children can learn many things when they are small. But later is also good because small children like to play and they can be stressed in school. I think later is better for children. Because playing help them to grow and be happy. So my opinion is children should start school later.

Why Band 6: both views and an opinion are present but under-developed, with no example and some grammar slips ("playing help"). Adding detail and an example would reach 7.দুই দিক ও মত আছে কিন্তু কম বিস্তৃত, উদাহরণ নেই, কিছু grammar ভুল।
Band 5.5

This is a big question about school age. Some parent send children early because they want them clever. Other parent wait because child is small. In my country most children start at five and it is normal. I think early is okay but also later is okay it depend on the child and the family situation and many things.

Why Band 5.5: the two views are only weakly separated, the opinion is unclear ("early is okay but also later"), and there are grammar and plural errors. A clear position and separate paragraphs would help. দুই দিক দুর্বলভাবে আলাদা, মত অস্পষ্ট, grammar/plural ভুল।
